HTC Desire 820, 820q and 816G smartphones launched in India

New Delhi: HTC has launched three new Desire-series Android smartphones in India – Desire 820, 820Q and 816G. The Desire 820 will be available in two variants and both will ship in November. The 816G Dual SIM will cost Rs 18,990 and is expected to ship in October. There is no word on the pricing for the Desire 820 or 820Q.
The HTC Desire 820 comes with a 5.5-inch 720p HD display. The highlight of HTC Desire 820, which was globally unveiled at a pre-IFA 2014 event, is its 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC (1.5GHz quad-core + 1.0GHz quad-core) with integrated 4G LTE Cat. 4 connectivity. It is a dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) HTC Desire 820 runs Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense UI skinned on top. The device features a 13-megapixel (with f/2.2 lens) rear facing camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, apart from an 8-megapixel secondary front-facing camera. It offers 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G and 4G LTE.
The HTC Desire 820 packs a 2600mAh battery which is rated to deliver up to 22.4 hours (3G) of talk time and 424 hours (3G) of standby time. It also supports HTC’s Dot View case which will provide ‘instant access to your phone without opening the cover.’
The other handset, HTC Desire 820Q, has the same specifications as the HTC Desire 820, but comes with a different quad-core chipset (clocked at 1.2GHz), and has just 1GB of RAM.
Likewise, the Desire 816G is nearly identical to the Desire 816 but is without LTE support. It offers a 5.5-inch 720p display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone has 13MP rear camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2, 28mm lens and 1080p video recording, and 5MP front facing camera with BSI sensor and 1080p video recording. The phone’s inbuilt storage is 16GB and supports additional storage up to 128GB via microSD. Connectivity options include dual-SIM connectivity, 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth and GPS. The Desire 816G is powered by a 2600 mAh battery.
