Indian Hotel & Restaurant Association [AHAR] had filed a writ petition against the declaration of dry day on the Maharashtra Assembly election vote counting day 19th October 2014, which concludes by evening. Hon’ble Bombay High Court admitted AHAR’s petition and allowed Permit Rooms to serve liquor from 6 p.m. onwards on the Election Result day.

“We had petitioned the Honorable Bombay High Court to allow the Permit Rooms to serve liquor during the evening, as continuous dry days were affecting the business and resulting a huge revenue loss for both State Government and the Hoteliers”. Said Shri. Arvind Shetty , President AHAR he also added that, “ it is for the second time we have challenged the dry day notification and were granted relief by the Hon’ble Bombay High Court”.
