GM CR hands over High-end medical equipments to Byculla Railway Hospital

Shri D K Sharma, General Manager, Central Railway formally handed over High End Medical Equipments worth Rs.11 lakhs donated by The Central Railway Employees’ Cooperative Society to the Orthopaedic, ENT and Pathology Deparments of Bharat Ratna Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Railway Hospital, Byculla at a function held on 8th April 2017 in the Hospital premises.

The formal handing over function took place in presence of the following Officers and Dignitaries of Central Railway – Dr.Shyam Sunder CMD, Shri Ravindra Goel, DRM Mumbai, Comrade Nitin Pradhan, President NRMU, Comrade Venu Nair, General Secretary, NRMU, Dr.George Thomas, MD, Shri V S Sawant, President Central Railway ECC Society Ltd, Dr.K K Acharya CMS, Byculla and Dr,Meera Arora Chief Surgeon Byculla.

In his address to the gathering Shri D K Sharma, General Manager, Central Railway emphasised the need to improve the infrastructure of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Byculla on a war footing & promised all possible help at all levels to ensure that it is achieved in a reasonably short time frame. This would go a long way in further improving patient outcomes. He also stressed upon the need to adopt promotive & preventive measures to ensure a healthy lifestyle.

The High End Medical Equipments donated by The Central Railway Employees’ Cooperative Society Ltd under the CSR initiative included the following :

1. Genxt Arthroscopic Camera with LED light source and Memory card ( for recording) for the Orthopaedic Dept.

2. “0”degree Nasal Endoscope of Karl Storz & LED Head light for the ENT dept.

3. Electrolyte Analyser & REMI Centrifuge Equipment for the Pathology dept.

A large number of Directors of ECC Society, NRMU delegates Doctors & Paramedical staff were also present during the function.
