With so many accomplishments already under his belt already, Drake continues to prove that he can’t be stopped as a musician and an entertainer.
According to Forbes, Drake has become the first artist to hit 10 billion streams on Spotify. A large portion of these streams can be traced back to his Views album. “One Dance” landed Drake his first No. 1 on the Hot 100 charts as the lead on the track and eventually ended up becoming the most popular song on the entire album. That song alone has over a billion streams on Spotify and was the first record to reach the one billion stream milestone on the streaming service.
The singer whose first No. 1 hit as a lead artist, “One Dance,” also achieved tremendous success as it become one of the most popular cut from the blockbuster record and has 1.15 billion plays alone, or just over 10% of his e. Back in December, the song became the first to reach the one billion play milestone. Plenty of other songs from the album Views have impressive play counts such as “Hotline Bling” with just over 600 million, “Too Good” with 520 million and “Controlla” with over 340 million. Drake gained over two billion streams with his last album alone.
A major portion of Drake’s 10 billion streams may come from Views, but he also has a sizable back catalog that continues to be streamed by people all over the world every day. New single “Fake Love,” which he released back in December, already has well over 320 million plays, while “Best I Ever Had,” the No. 2-charting song that helped launch him as a star, only has 78 million streams. Drake has also released his highly anticipated new project/playlist- More Life.
