In a first of its kind on Indian Railways, Central Railway inducted 251 Guards and 8 supervisors of Maharashtra Security Force formally at a function held at the Auditorium, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai on 30.11.2017 in the august presence of Shri D.K. Sharma, General Manager, Central Railway, Shri Sanjay Barve, Managing Director/Director General, Maharashtra State Security Corporation, Shri Atul Srivastava, Inspector General, Railway Protection Force, Central Railway.
The force personnel were given induction training at RPF training centre, Nasik. They will be primarily assisting the Railway Protection Force, Central Railway for manning FOBs & Platforms in crowd management duties during peak hours. They will also assist the RPF in providing passenger security and help in nabbing anti social elements to hand over to the concerned RPF/GRP. This will enable Central Railway to bolster the existing security arrangements with regard to better security of passengers and passenger area.
On this occasion, Shri D.K.Sharma, General Manager, Central Railway addressed the jawans and the officers and exhorted them to rise up to the occasion and leave no stone unturned towards passenger facilitation including their security needs. The induction of MSF in Central Railway suburban section is going to be a great boon towards the passenger safety and security.
