Central Railway has done record freight loading during the month of July 2017.

The freight loading during the month of July 2017 is 5.10 MT (Million Tonnes) which is 49.5 % more than corresponding month of last year i.e. July 2016 and 12.5 % more over the target set for the month of July 2017.

5.10 MT loading in July 2017 is BEST EVER on Central Railway for the month of July in any year. The previous best was 4.96 MT in the month of July 2015.

Central Railway has registered the freight loading of 19.88 MT during the current year i.e. from April to July 2017 which is 14.6 % higher than the corresponding period of last year i.e. April to July 2016 and 9 % above the target set for the current year i.e. from April to July 2017.

The growth registered by Central Railway is the highest among all Zonal Railways. The record performance in loading during the month of July 2017 is attributed to loading of Coal, Cement, Fertilizers, Onions, Petroleum and Oil products, Iron and Steel and De-oiled cake. The Coal loading during July 2017 is almost doubled as compared to loading in the month of July 2016. The De-oiled cake loading increased by six times during July 2017. During the current financial year i.e. from April to July 2017 the Onion loading from Maharashtra increased by five times as compared to previous year.
