CENTRAL RAILWAY OBSERVED WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

Central Railway has observed World Environment Day by organising different activities such as conducting seminars and Tree plantation etc. In all 19 seminars were conducted on Central Railway out of which 9 were organised on Mumbai Division and the remaining 10 were organised on other divisions of Central Railway i.e. Solapur, Pune, Bhusaval and Nagpur.

SEMINAR ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY AT CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI TERMINUS

The seminar was organized by Central Railway on the subject ” World Environment Day ” at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai today.

The seminar begin with the inaugural address by Shri D.K. Sharma, General Manager, Central Railway. While addressing on the environment issues he emphasized the importance of environment in our day-to-day life. He further stressed upon the paperless working, Energy saving by star rated equipments especially airconditioners etc, Land management to protect from encroachment, Rain Water Harvesting, Solar Energy plants on the roof top to generate electricity, Bio-diesel production etc. On this occasion Additional General Manager Shri Vishal Agrawal, Chief Mechanical Engineer Shri Bhushan Patil, Chief Electrical Engineer Shri Rajeev Agrawal, Principal Chief Engineer Shri S.K Kulsreshtha, Divisional Railway Manager Mumbai Division shri Ravindra Goyal and other senior Railway officials were present. In addition to this a representative of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board Shri D Nandsear participated in a seminar organised at Matunga Workshop.
TREE PLANTATION

The beginning of observance of World Environment Day started with conducting Tre Plantation program by the hands of Shri D.K.Sharma, General Manager, Central Railway at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai. On the occasion Principle Head of all the Departments were also present and participated in the tree plantation. In all about 5000 saplings were planted on this occasion at workshops, carsheds, depots and on divisions all over the Central Railway.
