ARMY PERSONNEL AT MUMBAI CELEBRATES RAKSHA BANDHAN

Army personnel of Headquarters Utter Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area celebrated Raksha Bandhan with visually challenged trainees of National Association of Blind, India and students of VK Krishna Menon College of Commerce & Economics at a function organised at Colaba, Mumbai today.

The festival holds particular significance for the Armed Forces as it celebrates and emphasises their duty in protecting the citizens of this country. National Association of Blind, India, has been celebrating the festival with the Indian Army every year since the Kargil War in 1999. This year also, the Association delivered one lakh Rakhi’s which were sent to the troops deployed on forward posts in J&K serving in the Army’s Northern Command.
